Costa Precision's extensive experience in producing complex contoured surfaces translates into our ability to manufacture large molds. Several molds, some as large as 120" X 50" X 36" have been designed and built for the fuselage of the X-34 Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV) pictured here.

    Customer supplied IGES files are the basis for in house mold design. Molds are finished machined with either our Awea 3 to 5-axis, bridge type machining centers, our Okuma & Howa Millac 852V or our Okuma & Howa VMP 5-axis bridge type machining center.

    These state-of-the art machining centers combined with our design experience allow us to produce molds as large as 120" long by 63" wide by 40" high. Much longer lengths are possible with multiple setups. Our 5-axis machining centers further increases our capability to manufacture precision molds for a variety of industries.
